Part 1: The Golden Rule
Oki Adams is a teenage student, and also a talented footballer. After sitting for his final high school exams and while awaiting his results, he joins the new under-20 football team in his neighbourhood and then gets to play in the prestigious Governor’s Cup. Surprisingly, his team cruises into the glamorous cup final. And for netting most of the goals that secure the cup final ticket, he turns the hero overnight. Then the expectations swell and grow on him as the big match draws nearer.
Part 2: The Road To Success
The Adamses is a nuclear family that are resident in Nigeria. Mr. Adams is a naval officer, his wife is a nurse, while their two children, Oki and Ade, are both teenage students. The family enjoy farming, and they have been cultivating a domestic farm for years. Besides farming, the couple are both keenly interested in their children’s school education. But while Ade’s focus is on schooling, Oki has always divided his focus between schooling and football. And now that Oki’s final exam results in high school have just been released, he and his family are very much eager to see how well he has performed.
Part 3: A National Call-up
Nigeria is to a great extent a football-loving nation. And to the nation’s credit, her football teams have won many international laurels. But one particular football honour that has narrowly eluded the country is at the under-20 World Cup, where the national team has played and lost in two Cup Finals. Yet again, the current Flying Eagles, the nation’s under-20 team, have qualified for the World Cup. And this current national team has shown that it’s capable of winning the elusive trophy. But to the shock of its teeming fans, the team loses a number of tune-up matches in a row. Quite unfortunately, the nation’s hopes of winning the World Cup are starting to fade away.
